Yoga Collective

Yoga focuses on the union and harmony between mind and body.  It uses movement, breath, posture, relaxation and meditation in order to establish a healthy and balanced approach to life. Thoughts are centered; increased suppleness and physical well-being are not only achieved but also enjoyed.

HATHA YOGA

Hatha is the most familiar form of yoga and a great place to start. With an emphasis on the postures and simple breathing techniques a Hatha class will leave you feeling physically relaxed and mentally clear. Hatha is a complete practice in itself and in many ways the purest form of yoga which can take the practitioner all the way to advanced. However it’s also fun to play with other styles of yoga once you have a good knowledge of the basic postures, such as a more dynamic vinyasa style.

ASTANGA VINYASA YOGA

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic breath movement practice that uses a specific sequential pattern of postures.  The postures are linked by movement (Vinyasa) and the practice is supported by a deep and even breath (Ujjayi), internal locks (Bandhas) and focus techniques (Dristi).  By synchronizing breath, movement & internal locks an intense internal heat is produced which purifies muscles and organs and expels toxins through the skin and breath.  We begin by exploring the primary series, in turn building strength and stamina and increasing flexibility with the body.
